So now you’re engaged! You and your fiancé have come to an agreement about what you want your big day to look like, and now, you’re ready to shop for your dress. For many of you, this is probably a big adventure (both price and style decisions).
Do your homework before you shop. Consider the ceremony location when it comes to style. You don’t select a Vegas-style dress for a walk down the isle of your church or a heavy gown with a long train for a beach wedding. Educate yourself on the language of selection so you aren’t totally overwhelmed in the bridal shop. Look at the “silhouette” of the dress as it relates to your body shape and height. The terms related to waistlines, necklines, sleeves and trains become important as you start to compare one dress to another. There are also many variations in laces and trims.
Unfortunately, Sheboygan County offers no bridal dress shops so traveling to a larger city, searching the internet or wearing mom’s dress are your current options.
